We Are Part of Something Bigger: The Central Ohio Grief Care Coalition
Grief is one of the most universal human experiences, and one of the most isolating. Whether you are navigating the loss of a loved one, a pregnancy, a relationship, or a version of your life you expected to have, the path through grief is rarely straightforward. That is why community matters so much in this work.
We are proud to be a participating member of the Central Ohio Grief Care Coalition, a network of organizations across Central Ohio united around one shared goal: making sure no one has to grieve without support.

What Is the Central Ohio Grief Care Coalition?
The Central Ohio Grief Care Coalition brings together organizations that specialize in grief care and support for all types of loss. Grief looks different for every person, and the support available should reflect that.
The coalition’s work centers on keeping grief resources current and accessible, ensuring referrals flow easily between trusted providers, and making certain that no cultural community is left out of the conversation. Members also share research, best practices, and education opportunities so that the care being offered across the network reflects what we know about how people heal.
Other participating members include the American Red Cross, Columbus Public Health, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Mount Carmel Hospice Bereavement Services, LOSS Community Services, OhioHealth Loss and Healing Services, and STAR, the Stress Trauma and Resilience program at OSU, among others.
How Holistic Consultation Supports Grief
At Holistic Consultation, our clinicians are trained in trauma-informed approaches including EMDR and Brainspotting, which can be particularly helpful when grief is tied to sudden loss, traumatic death, or prolonged anticipatory grief. We also offer walk and talk therapy for clients who find movement helpful in processing difficult emotions.
Why We Said Yes to This Coalition
Grief work requires a community of practice. No single organization can or should try to meet every need. Being part of this coalition means we can make and receive referrals with confidence, stay connected to what is happening across the grief care landscape in Central Ohio, and contribute our clinical perspective to a broader conversation about how our community heals.
This is exactly the kind of work we built Holistic Consultation to be part of.
