Think Pawsitive: Why Holistic Consultation Co-Sponsors a Local School Walk-a-Thon
Every year, something wonderful happens at a local elementary school.
Students lace up their sneakers, families show up, teachers cheer them on, and the whole community rallies around a simple but meaningful goal: raise money for the kids.
Since 2019, Holistic Consultation has been a proud co-sponsor of the Cherrington Walk-a-Thon and we do not take that lightly. This year the theme was “Think Pawsitive”.
A School Worth Investing In
Cherrington Elementary is a Title I funded school, meaning it serves a significant population of students from low-income households and receives federal funding to help close the opportunity gap.
Events like the Walk-a-Thon are not just fun traditions.
Community fundraising is often what makes the difference between a good year and a great one, between kids having access to enriching experiences through field trips, scholarships, playground equipment, books, clubs, and family events and going without. Those experiences are what make a school feel like a community, and they do not happen without people showing up.
What This Has to Do With Mental Health
Everything, actually.
Mental health is built long before anyone sits down in a therapy office. It is built in schools where children feel seen, supported, and connected. It is built through experiences that tell kids their education matters and that their community showed up for them.
The Think Pawsitive theme is not just a clever play on words. It is a mindset we believe in deeply, the idea that a positive outlook, strong community, and the right support can make hard things manageable and good things possible.
