The Conversation Around ADHD Is Changing. Our Team Is Leading It.

Jean Tidd and Holly Mills recently presented “Misdiagnosed and Misunderstood: ADHD, RSD, and Diagnostic Clarity” to over 1,000 registered mental health professionals as part of NASW Ohio Social Work Month continuing education series.

The session drew attendees from 18 states and from across the globe. The response was extraordinary.

Why this presentation matters

ADHD is one of the most commonly missed and most commonly misdiagnosed conditions in mental health practice. It presents differently across genders, across the lifespan, and across cultural contexts. Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria, one of the most impairing aspects of ADHD for many people, is frequently unrecognized and unnamed even by experienced clinicians. When the professionals treating ADHD do not have the full picture, the people living with it pay the price.

Jean and Holly brought that full picture to a national and global audience, grounded in current research, shaped by years of direct clinical experience, and delivered through a neurodiversity-affirming lens that honors how ADHD actually works in real people’s lives.

What the field had to say

The feedback from attendees speaks for itself.

“This helped me better understand how ADHD presents differently, especially in women and across the lifespan.”

“I appreciated the discussion on RSD. This is something I see often but didn’t have the language for.”

“This training will absolutely change how I approach assessment and avoid misdiagnosis.”

“I valued the neurodiversity-affirming lens and how it was integrated into practice.”

Professionals especially connected with the focus on diagnostic clarity, gender differences, and the real-world impact of getting it wrong. That is not a coincidence. It is a reflection of how much this conversation is needed, and how well Jean and Holly are equipped to lead it.

What this means for our clients

The expertise Jean and Holly brought to that room is the same expertise they bring to every client they work with. The neurodiversity-affirming perspective, the diagnostic clarity, the understanding of how ADHD intersects with anxiety, depression, RSD, and relationships, that is not reserved for conference presentations. It is woven into how they show up every single day.

If you have spent years feeling misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or like the explanations you have been given do not quite fit, you deserve care from clinicians who actually get it.
