(He, Him, His)
Joe is a licensed Social Worker who has been practicing since 2014. He received his undergraduate degree in Social Work from Ohio University and his Masters in Social Work from The Ohio State University. Joe has halted his education for the time being but is interested in pursuing his Ph.D. and Sex Therapy Certification in the future.
Joe has more than 8 years of experience working with the diverse aging population and their caregivers in and around Central Ohio. He has spent 3 years working evenings and weekends in crisis mental health to assist people 18+ and their families cope with a vast array of mental health diagnoses and presenting symptoms.
As a Queer person, Joe prioritizes the importance of self-acceptance and self-love within and outside of the LGBTQIA+ community. Joe’s dream is to live in a world that embraces mental health as a normal part of life and prioritizes crisis prevention and treatment options without shame and judgment. Joe believes that a work-life balance is the key to keeping a healthy mind, body, and soul. Joe also believes in sex positivity and that explicit enthusiastic consent should always be part of any sexual interaction.
As a therapist, Joe aims to create a safe space where all topics are on the table. Joe embraces the process of therapy and wants every client to feel welcome, seen, heard, and understood during each session. Joe’s clinical interests include managing anxiety and depression, processing life events, and working through trauma – including but not limited to religious trauma. Joe’s personal interests include playing with his animals, buying too many plants, and traveling to new parts of the world.
Joe offers services from our Clintonville location and offers in-person and online options.
