Group Support At Holistic Consultation

Holistic Consultation works to provide a diverse range of treatment options for our clients, including offering ongoing support groups. A support group is “a group of people who are led by a professional and come together with a goal of overcoming or coping with” Support groups are designed for people who have shared experiences. They provide a safe, nonjudgmental setting where folks can share their experiences and feelings, offer advice, encourage one another, and find healing and growth.

ACT in ACTion

"ACT in ACTion: Putting Knowledge and Skills into Practice"

Looking to put the skills you learned into action but feeling stuck? This group will review and dive deeper into the application of living through your values while using mindfulness-based coping skills. The group format will help you feel not as alone and isolated when faced with life's dilemmas. The group can provide support, brainstorm possible next steps, and guidance on how to address barriers. You do not need to complete a skills-based group like Building Balance or Getting Out of Your Head to Get Unstuck prior to joining. The group is every other week to help give time with an individual therapist and/or to put the skills into practice.

Day and Time: Tuesdays from 6 pm - 7 pm
Frequency and Duration: Every other Week, 1/9/24-5/14/24
Location: Online
Facilitators: Natalie Waters and Erica Kittleson
Cost: $65 to insurance per 60-minute group session. Holistic Consultation will bill in network insurances and the client will be responsible for coinsurance or copay. Sliding fee scale available for individuals not covered by insurance.

Getting Out of Your Head to Get Unstuck

“Getting Out of Your Head: Skills for a Value Driven Life”

Discover techniques to stop resisting your ideas and emotions by using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). In order to explore how thoughts, feelings, stress, and avoidance strategies can affect life and to learn how to work with yourself rather than against yourself, this group will offer a safe, nonjudgmental environment. The group will learn mindfulness techniques to "get out of your head" in the first half of the sessions. The group's second half will focus on values and how to lead a life that is guided by them.

Day and Time: Tuesdays from 6 pm - 7 pm
Frequency and Duration: Every other week for 8 weeks, 2/13/24 - 5/21/24, taking March 26th off.
Location: Online

Growing Into You: A Creative Experience

Growing into You is an experiential therapy group, centered around Holistic Consultation’s therapy garden. In this “choose your own adventure” creative experience, group members will plan, design, and grow their own garden from seeds. This group not only allows the members to heal in a community, but also enables members to connect, bond, and work out issues in real-time utilizing newly discovered relationships. This group is ideal for those looking to manage anxiety, and depression, and build deeper relationships with themselves and their communities. Led by our horticultural therapist, this brand-new offering is one you don’t want to miss!

Day and Time: Thursdays 9 am - 10 am
Frequency and Duration: Weekly for 16 weeks, 2/22/24 through 5/6/24. Registration for this group will be in 4-week segments, you may register for one or more four week blocks.

Creating Attachments: Relationships with Ourselves and Others

In this group, participants will be able to recognize the role(s) they played in their birth family and how they may be influencing their relationships now. We discuss attachment styles as we examine relationships. Although the group will adjust to each member's requirements, it may include topics such ashow to set healthy boundaries, develop flexible and beneficial self-care routines, and develop trauma-informed coping skills.

Day and Time: Mondays 12 pm – 1 pm
Frequency and Duration: Weekly for 10 weeks, 2/12/24 – 4/22/24, taking April 8th off.

Unbroken: From Trauma to Healing

We will provide methods for healing and a deeper understanding of trauma in this six-week program. This group is based on the understanding that trauma can become a source of strength. We will investigate the neurobiology of the trauma reaction using the most recent research and offer concrete strategies to decrease that response. We will consult MaryCatherine McDonald, Ph.D.’s book “Unbroken: The trauma response is never wrong and other things you need to know to take back your life”. It is not required to read the book in order to participate in this group, although group members are welcome to do so.

Day and Time: Wednesdays from 6 pm - 7 pm.
Frequency and Duration: Weekly for 6 weeks, 2/21/24 - 3/27/24

Too Much Stuff

Did you grow up in a family that may have had Too Much Stuff? Is the environment you grew up in impacting your life and responses now? Is there conflict between you and a loved one that may have Too Much Stuff? If so, this group may be a fit. In this 5 week group, participants will learn about hoarding, how to set boundaries with loved ones, a values assessment, working through conflict resolution, assertive communication skills, and support systems. This group is intended primarily for adult children of hoarders or similar family systems. Open Enrollment Now.
