Beyond the Therapy Room: Holistic Consultation’s Role in Statewide Grief Advocacy
At Holistic Consultation, our commitment to local mental health extends well beyond our office walls. That is why we are proud to share that Holistic Consultation serves on the statewide advisory board for the Grief, Advocacy, and Prevention Network, known as the GAP Network.

What the GAP Network does
The GAP Network provides education, support, and advocacy for individuals and families in Ohio who have experienced what is often called stigmatized loss. That includes grief following a loved one’s death by overdose, suicide, or incarceration, losses that are too often suffered in silence because the circumstances surrounding them carry shame, misunderstanding, or social stigma.
The network’s mission is straightforward and necessary: break the isolation that surrounds these kinds of losses, connect grieving families with real support, and build communities that know how to respond with compassion.
The GAP Network is building something Ohio genuinely needs.
Why this work matters to us
Grief is one of the most universal human experiences. But not all grief is treated equally. Families who lose someone to addiction or suicide often find themselves navigating their loss without the community support that surrounds other kinds of death. The silence can be as painful as the loss itself.
At Holistic Consultation, we believe that clinical care and community advocacy belong together. Serving on this advisory board is one way we put that belief into practice, working at a statewide level to ensure that more individuals and families have access to the support they deserve, regardless of the circumstances of their loss.
If you or someone you love is navigating grief and looking for support, we are here.
